A new General Chapter 5.11 on Nitrosamine Impurities has been introduced in Indian Pharmacopoeia, IP 2022, tentative effective date is 1st December;2022.

Am yet to receive the official copy of IP 2022, however the draft version that I reviewed is quite on the lines of what is already known about Nitrosamines.

IPC doesn’t permit transmission of unauthorized electronic copies of its General Chapters and other contents.
Stakeholders and users are advised to refer to authorized copies of IP that can be procured from its website.

The tenth edition of Indian Pharmacopoeia, IP 2026 will be effective from July 1, 2026.
Please refer to IP General notices and General Chapters (official copies) wrt updates on Nitrosamines to ensure compliance to IP 2026.
