My name is Fiona, and I work as an Analyst at the National Drug Authority of Uganda. My background is in quality control of pharmaceutical products, with a particular focus on assay techniques using HPLC, GC, and UV spectrophotometry. Recently, I’ve been involved in an exciting new project focused on the detection and analysis of nitrosamine impurities using LC-MS/MS.
I’m looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing insights from my experiences as well!
Welcome to the Nitrosamines exchange Fiona… I have no doubt you will find very insightful the discussion here in the community. We recently have seen an increase in analytical testing discussion topics, which I encourage to participate. Also feel free to post questions to the community or include your insights in any of the ongoing discussions. Welcome!

My name is Sara Oliveros and I’m a development analyst who’s gonna be specializing in Nitrosamine contamination and doing risk analysis on them, working at a Pharmaceutical company in Colombia. Nice to meet everyone, I hope to learn lots of things here!
I’m Purvaa Ingale, a M.pharm Pharmaceutics student studying at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences Udupi, India, currently in my 2nd year with an ongoing internship at Mylan (A Viatris Company) and my dissertation topic is Nitrosamines.
This is a great platform to learn and understand nitrosamines inside out. I’m delighted to be a part of this community and hoping to be in touch with you all regarding all the wonderful insights!
I am Ken Strassburger and I am excited to belong to this group. I have 25+ years experience in GC/MS and LC/MS using Ion Traps, Single Quads and QQQ instruments in natural product and pharmaceutical applications. I have developed numerous methods to cover the volatile nitrosamines NDMA and EDTA as well as SDSRi’s of propranolol, bisoprolol and diphenhydramine. I am especially interested in the use of high ph mobile phases in the analysis of SDSRi compounds by MRM methods and Bio-Relevant Studies of nitrosamine formation in the human gastric tract.
