Namibia Medicines Regulatory council (NMRC) has withdrawn all ranitidine products from the Namibian market

The Namibia Medicines Regulatory council (NMRC) has decided to withdraw all ranitidine containing products from the Namibian market due to detection of N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in these products.

Ranitidine was withdrawn in the US in April 2020 from unacceptable levels of nitrosamine impurities found in the drug largely due to exposure to high temperatures during storage.
