New Automated Total Nitrosamine Analyzer solution too much problems associated with nitrosamine impurities.
Nitrites, nitrates and nitrosamines can be detected, as with the TEA glassware system.

For screening samples for below threshold concentrations (to 1ppb NDMA), identifying those that require further analyses.

The nitrate molecule is more stable than nitrite/nitrosamine, so does not cleave as well, reducing the LOD for nitrates.
This also fits in with the relative likelihood of nitrosamine formation.
The ATNA system can detect the liberated NO molecules from nitrites, nitrates and
nitrosamines, all of which can be of interest. However, being able to differentiate
between the nitrosamines and nitrites is of importance to understand the current Apparent
Total Nitrosamines Content (ATNC), and for an informed Risk Assessment of the potential
concentration of nitrosamine that could be achieved.
If no nitrites are present, the ATNA system can detect concentrations as low as 1ng/mL (ppb) NDMA.
By tailoring the headspace analysis vial chemistry, Ellutia has been able to remove
concentrations of sodium nitrite up to
10µg/mL (ppm) while still being able to detect NDMA to concentrations as low as 10ng/mL (ppb).
I think its a new revolution in the world of nitrosamine compound analysis.
