Sharing here some thoughts around an interesting case where severe extraction efficiency issues were observed due to matrix effect in some sartans analysis using a selective extraction protocol.
For some losartan samples, it was observed a high potential for some nitrosamines to adsorb onto the API yielding lower quantification results. This may be corrected by use of an internal standard and appropriate equilibration time for nitrosamines extraction.
